Title – Applying a gender lens to concerns of and solutions to corruption
Focus – looking at concerns of and solutions to corruption from a gendered perspective.

The deliberations will focus on trans-disciplinary innovation of how a gendered perspective can be used to address the concerns of and find solutions to corruption in the country and on the continent. Gender equality is not just a single goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5), but cuts across several of the other SDGs as set out by the United Nations. The issue of corruption is one which we are constantly faced with, and it affects all individuals, all generations, and genders. This session will also consider some of the approaches used towards fighting corruption, and view them from a gendered perspective. This discussion will also aim to ignite conversations around addressing these concerns, the role of STI to do so, and contextualise various forms of collaboration with a variety of networks to initiate an implementation model to end corruption, with a view encompassing all genders.

Kindly submit by 14 August 2018.

Please note, applications will be considered as per the below:

  1. First come first serve
  2. Quality and alignment of the submission as determined by the selection committee
  3. If your application is successful, OWSD may use your photos and produce a report
